What Stress Means to You

Stress is something that is in every ones day to day life.

  1. There are people that have a lot of stress, but at the same time, they do not let it get to them.
  2. Then also, you will find there are ‘other people’ who let nothing get to them at all. This is what keeps them from going crazy.
  3. Then there are people that worry so much that they get so stressed out that they go crazy. You could put your mind to these types of things to help your self out before something like this happens.

There are many forms and types of help to avoid having stress at all.
 
There are a few different types of stress. You could be stress about, work, money, or just any situation like that. There are many ways to handle things before you stress yourself out over it. Even if you worry a little bit about something, it could lead to stress. Then stress could lead to worse things than that.
 
Stress is something that you would want to avoid as much as possible.

It could lead to health risks, craziness, being put in the hospital, being ‘mean to people’, and other things related to that. Thinking positive will reduce the risk of being stressed out. Thinking negative is what causes you to lead to being stressed out. Worrying about things is also a leading cause of stress. Therefore, as long as you think positive you should be able to sit back, and enjoy life with it being stress free.
 
You could get so stress out, and not bother talking to some one about it could cause you to be mean. Doing this could cause you to lose your friends. Then once you would lose your friends, it would make you have even more stress than what it was before.

Stress could definitely lead to a lot of different things that could make the stress problem worse. Stress could lead to many bad things that could change your life. It could lead to ruining your marriage to losing your children, if you go crazy. Stress could get to the point that it could hurt you yourself. It could lead to hair loss, nerve problems, head problems, and even worse than that.

The best thing for you to do is stop the stress problem before it leads to something severe.

Life can be very fun, and enjoyable without stress.

Things to help avoid stress

Well, now you are finding ways to deal with stress now you are going to need to find some ways to avoid it as well.  You need to find ways to help you feel more relaxed throughout your day and to deal with the problems that can occur at any time. 

When you feel stressed, practice taking long deep breaths. 

This will help to calm you down throughout the day and to get your thinking back on track so that you can get through the moment with a clarity and calmness. 

When you are at work, you need to get up from your desk or station and take breaks. 

This goes for those of us who work from home too…

You can do this at different points throughout the day.  When you start to feel the pressures kicking in, you may need to get up and walk away.  It is important to go and take a walk or go outside and get some fresh air.  Give yourself time to gather your thoughts and take time for yourself. 

Getting plenty of exercise is very important. 

You will need to make sure that you are getting the right amount of exercise that will help you feel good about your body and it will also help to clear your mind from stress that can build up.  Eating right is very smart too.  You need to eat a balanced diet that will give you the essential nutrients that your body is going to need.

Do not drink too much caffeine. 

You can have your coffee in the morning but do not over exceed your limits.  This stimulant can bring the stress on even more.  Do not depend on drugs and alcohol to help you relax.  This can only cause more problems because it can become a crutch for the person to lean on.

You need to have good management and organization skills. 

When you are prepared and organized, you are going to have an easier time managing your day and your schedule.  You need to look at things positively.  You should not have a negative outlook on life.  Keeping a good and positive outlook is necessary for a good view on life.

Find the humor in life. 

You should not take everything so serious.  Do not be afraid to laugh and have fun in your daily life.  You should not bury your emotions.  Keep a good light on things and do not be afraid to let people know how you are feeling whether you agree with their thoughts or not.

Do you find that the tension between you and your spouse has been on the rise?

Stress in the marriage is more common than most will think, or want to believe, but you can put an end, or at least ease up on the stress in marriage by following a few common things. You want to work on how you think about things, how you come across in the marriage, and in what you say, and you want to change the time that the two of your spend together.

Change how you talk to lessen the stress in your marriage

Think before you blurt anything out in a marriage. You may feel very comfortable in your relationship, and you may feel you can say just about anything aloud, but the truth of the matter is when you call some one stupid, or idiot, even in a joking manner it is going to hurt the relationship. Take the stress out of your long-term relationship by thinking about what you are saying before you are saying it.

Change how you act, and how you are around your spouse

Remember back in a time when you were dating, you were happy to see your spouse? You were happy to spend time doing your hair, picking out your clothes and such? Put that feeling back into your life by thinking of how you are going to make your spouse fall in love with you again every day. This is going to put the spark back into your relationship and will take the stress out of your relationship.

A lot of stress involved in a relationship is the lack of trust.

Stressing out about where your spouse is, why they are working late, or just where they are in general will eventually put a major strain on the relationship. Take the stress out of your relationship and out of the marriage by putting trust back into the equation. It is going to be difficult if not impossible to not trust your spouse. Trust is going to put all the strain and stress behind you so the two of you can work on being together for the rest of your lives.

Stress in your marriage is going to appear not only after you have been married for a few years, but also when children appear in the family, and when money matters are tight. Take your stress and focus your energies on something constructive in the situation.

  • If you are find you are stressed about money, find ways to save money.
  • If you are stressed about the children, find a sitter for the night and unwind a little bit.

Every problem, every stressful situation does have an answer and you can work through it.

Make a list of things that are stressful

So you are trying to figure out what is causing all of the stress in your body, you may want to do some research.  This is something that you can do on your own to find a way to pin point the problems and to get started with the treatments of them.  You should sit down and think about the problems that you are having in your life and what you can do to change the situation.

Make a well thought out list of all the problems that you are facing in your life.  Think about these problems and what you are worried about.  When you are thinking about what is disrupting your life, you may find the answers to the questions of what is causing all of your problems and your stress.

Think of all the people that are adding to your stress. 

This will include all relationships both at home and at work.  Figure out what the problems are with these people and if you need to have them in your life or if they are someone that you should distance yourself from.  There is nothing wrong with ending a relationship that is in turmoil.  You should be prepared to do this if it is relevant to your health and well-being.

Think of things that you can do to improve your lifestyle. 

If you are eating the right things, taking the time to exercise and get the proper nutrients for your body.  Are you talking about your feelings with others?  Do you need to find a different career path?  These are examples that you need to think about when you are trying to define your life and what is causing you the most problems with stress

Do not forget about the humor and entertainment in your life. 

You have to include these things into your life so that you are taking a break from the stress that can build up.  You should jot down the things that you like to do and what makes you happy.  Make sure that you are applying these things to your life so that you can become a better and well-rounded person. 

Make sure that you are going over your lists on a regular basis. 

Make the necessary changes where they are needed and take the time to enjoy things.  You need to stop and smell the roses once in a while to maintain a healthy outlook on life.  You will find that once you apply this list, you will watch your stress disappear for good.

Stress is a reason why a lot of people get sick, or end up in the hospital over. They either had a nervous breakdown or did some stupid like that. To avoid this from happening to you don’t let things get to you as much as you do. It is all up to you to avoid letting these types of things to happen. Stress is what a lot of people go through in their every day life.
 
There are a lot of ways to stop stress from happening to you or even your household.

  • Don’t worry about things until you find out for sure that if it is something to a thing to worry yourself about. Worrying about a lot of things is the main source of what causes stress.

People worry about their future a lot. You cannot sit and worry about your future while you are focusing on the presents of your life now. Also bad things that have been bothering you that happened in the past is some thing that stresses people. Think about it you did it, it was a mistake, and it is over and done with now so why let it stress you out. Just think every one in this world makes mistakes.  Life is way to short to worry the whole way through it. You will not enjoy life if you worry or stress over things every day.

A good way to reduce stress at home with your kids is to do things everyday as much as possible.

Fun things like:

  • going for ice cream go to a park
  • go to the movies
  • go bowling
  • etc

This will keep not only you, but also your children from getting stressed about things.

A good way to reduce stress for yourself:

  • go out with friends have a good time don’t think about things while your out and about. This will help to keep your mind off of things, and keep you from having a lot of stress.

There are certain times in life that there are no ways around being stressed about what is going on. Having a love one in the hospital for three months, loosing a family member, and different things like that. Those types of things are stressful, but you got other things to focus on The best thing that you could do for them people, is don’t worry things will get better and pray for them.

It is not easy to prevent stress.  Stress is the number one health problem for most people.

Although stress it self cannot be a cause of death, the side effects from it can be.  So many things cause stress in daily life.  It can appear in the body in many ways and forms. 

Stress is brought on differently in every person and for some people; it is a debilitating disease that can ruin an entire life. 

Some of the reasons for stress:

  •  work
  • family
  • a terrible or sudden loss of a loved one
  • an ended marriage or relationship
  • problems in health and diet. 

Stress can come from anything and take over a person’s life very quickly.  It is important for people to learn to prevent stress or more stress in their life. 

One way to help prevent stress is to have a good diet.  You need to make sure that you are filling your body with healthy foods that will support your mental and physical health.  The more junk that you eat will in turn make you gain weight or hurt your health.  Eating too much of this junk food will only make a person feel bad and may cause depression for some people.

Having a good exercise program is another important factor in relieving stress.  Exercise can make a person feel better, when they are feeling bad.  Exercise will help take stress out of the body and help you feel better inside and out.  You will be burning off calories and helping your body becomes stronger and healthier by reducing stress that you are accumulating. 

There are also medications for people that are dealing with stress.  There are different forms of prescription medication that that a doctor can prescribe for a person.  There are also forms of vitamins that can be used to help a person deal with stress as well.  These vitamins are going to help with the support of the mind and help people to maintain a better outlook.

One of the most important things in preventing stress is to have a good support system. 

 This means that you should have the help that you are going to need from your friends and family.  You will want have someone to lean on when you are in need and they will be there with your through all of your stressful situations.  You will be able to manage your stress and feel more confident in finding a way out of it.

How to help your child manage stress

Stress is a normal part of growing up and being a child.  Children are constantly changing and it is important to help them cope with the everyday cause and effects that it can have on them.  Normal pressures and tension will naturally disappear as your child develops.  When stress reaches a certain level in your child, they will need to have help from family members, teachers and even doctors to get them through it.

Children will learn from their parents and other adults.  This is also true about how to handle stress. If they see you get all worked up and upset, they will probably do the same.  If you do not like what you are seeing, you may want to change your own habits and the way that you take on pressure.

Remember what it was like when you were your child’s age. 

Think about the situation and what you remember doing about it.  Do not deny or make fun of your child’s stress or worries.  These worries are real to them and they need to have your attention in a positive way.  Together the both of you can work out the problem and get it under control.

Communication is very important. 

You need to talk to your children and help with the tension that they are feeling because of a certain subject.  Most of the time, it is something small that is causing their stress.  Be willing to help them and talk it over to find the best solution that both of you can agree on to make the situation better.

Do not lie to your children. 

Tell them the truth about family matters and crises.  Do not try and protect them from everything that is going on. Sooner or later, they will find out and they will only be more stressed when they learn that their parents lied to them.  Your goal in life as a parent is to eliminate stress in your child’s life and not to cause it.
Let your child be involved in the decisions that need to be made and how to solve problems.  They will feel encouraged and loved when you are including them in these important things.  Provide your child with the tools that they are going to need in life to make those hard decisions and to deal with stress on a regular basis.  This will help your child develop better both mentally and physically in life.

How to help someone with stress

Do you know someone that is dealing with a lot of stress? You feel led to may help him or her deal with it.  You can do some things in order to get them through their difficult periods and continue to see them through the entire dilemma that stress can bring to someone’s life.  It is important for you to be a good method of support for them and to let them know that you are always going to be there for them.

You need to be a good support for him or her.  Call them as often as you can. Ask how they are doing and if they need anything.  Be there for the person when they want to talk and open up about things.  This can be one of the best ways to help someone that is dealing with stress and needs to find help.

If a person is alone, you can call them up and ask to dinner. Invite them over to the house to watch a movie or play board games.  Do anything that you can in order to involve them in some form of physical activity.  If they are depressed from stress, being alone may only add to their problems and may even create more in the end. 

Being a true friend means being there to lend a hand and help when necessary.  When a person is suffering from stress, they may not ask for help that they want.  It is important that you are looking for the signs and know when you need to intervene with some help.  You can make a difference to them just by being their friend.  This is the most that you can do for them to help them in a bad situation. 

Watch for the warning signs of stress and the depression that it can cause. 

Look for signs of distress:

  • not eating
  • staying at home all the time
  • pushing away friends and loved ones
  • not going to work 
  • appearance suddenly changes.

These are all signs that there may be a problem in their life and they may need to have a little extra attention from their friends and other method of support. 

Just be a friend and help them get through the tough times.  Offer you hand and tell them that it will be all right.  This is the most effective way that you can help someone when they are dealing with stress.

How does stress affect the body?

Having stress can affect the body in many ways.  It is something that can bring emotional and physical problems to the body and there a person should take the appropriate steps to deal with it. 

There are many ways that stress can harm the body.  The release of chemicals called catecholamine from brain will include hormones that include adrenaline and epinephrine.  A person may feel an increase in their heart rate and blood pressure.  This will occur when the body is feeling the stress and their lungs and heart are going to work harder.  The rate of breathing will increase and the lungs will take in more oxygen. 

The blood flow increases to get the body ready for other demands that stress brings on.
A person will probably have dryness of the mouth.  Blood flow will decrease to areas that are less important for basic survival and this will include the mouth.  The cause of dryness of the mouth will mean that a person will have a hard time talking and swallowing.

The skin can become clammy as the blood flow is diverted to vital organs and muscles.  You will feel hot or cold when this happens and you may have feelings of hot flashes as well.  You will also find that digesting food is more difficult and you may experience stomach problems like nausea or cramps. 

Having long-term stress can lead to physical or psychological damage to the body.  Stress develops slowly into more serious problems, which can include anxiety disorders or depression. This is when a person will feel lonely and disgusted with their body and will not want to be around any other people.  When this is the case, it is time for them to get the help that they need to cope with their stress.  This is the only way that they can get rid of the stress that is ruining their lives. 

Stress can make a person push their loved ones away.  It can affect personal relationships and make it hard for people to want to be around you.  Some people will get irritable and upset over the smallest thing.  They will get angry easily and find themselves yelling at the people that they love the most.  This is a normal side effect of stress but it can be helped and a person can start to feel like themselves again with a little help and understanding.

Eating food and stress are related

Did you ever feel that you have a big meeting coming up with someone that you just don’t like, but you have to do it? You may have no choice, but to make the meeting, but you need to calm your nerves. Almost without, thinking you grab a piece of chocolate from your desk, pop it in your mouth and head off to the meeting. Many people are in the same situation as you, using foods to lessen the feeling of stress we have and feel in our day.

Men, women and children alike are constantly eating as an unconscious method of relieving stress. If you are under a lot of pressure and you find that you are reaching for the goodies, the chips, or snack foods you are going to be gaining weight. As you are under more stress, and your headaches continue, you will find that your problems are only being added to as you gain weight, and your medical problems associated with gaining weight begin.

Who is at risk for overeating do to stress related incidents?
One type of industry that is stress related is the truck driver. The truck driver is constantly on the go, on the road, fighting traffic and deadlines among other things. The truck driver who is under stress will eat to stay away and will eat to calm his or her nerves. Many truck drivers find they are quickly overweight and need to lessen the stress in their lives so they will eat less.

Depending on food for comfort is nothing new. New mothers, and those who care for children often times find their selves under a lot of stress. If you are finding you grab a piece of candy every time someone is fighting or when you know that child is coming in to ask a question you are not solving your stress problem, over eating is compensating and covering up how you really feel about a situation.

Solve your problems and face your stress
 Stress can be easier to overcome as you realize what is stressful in your life. Are you doing too much at your job? Are you finding it hard to find work? Do you want to get your house cleaned up but your children won’t help? The stress in your life can always be changed. The stress in your life doesn’t mean you are stuck in this rut. You can change your feelings of stress by leaving those problems behind and changing what you do and how you do it.  Keep yourself busy, fight off those urges to help everyone do every thing, and lessen the stress in your life.
